Hi Dave, When Walmart, PA, Field Supply, and many other retailers send to Massachusetts Amazon should at least give an caption for their decision? There has not been a change to the laws in the Massachusetts .

Why don't you do due diligence and read the local ordinances and city bylaws and perhaps you'll detect out why you can receive air rifles, pellets, etc via mail in those zip codes.

The Airgun laws in Massachusetts have not changed also my local laws take non inverse regarding airguns and pellets and so I accept done my domicile work regarding state and local laws.
It appears the conclusion not to ship to Massachusetts is Amazons decision.
There are few other retailers that accept stores in the country that will sell y'all a product no questions asked even so will not transport the same detail to your door.

If you use Amazon and attempt to buy an Airgun or pellets from Pyrimid air Amazon will not permit you to place the order
Then it appears Amazon is blocking the sale which is probably a corporate decision
Either way it really does not matter because there are other vendor

My married woman and I would like to RV our way through New England, before concluding lift off, but nosotros won't considering of the anti-gun mentality and laws in those states.  Likewise, I'm confident that in that location are several similar reasons that Amazon will not send regionally perceived ordinance into these left wing, liberal, anti-gun states.  It'south not considering they don't want the business, they don't need the costly legal hassles.

If it makes you feel any better, as of January 1st 2016, Amazon will not ship an air rifle to Illinois.  I tried to social club a Buccaneer before this year but I received the canned response you did and couldn't complete the transaction.  I have not tried to purchase an air pistol this yr.

In 2015 I bought 2 rifles and four pistols from Amazon no trouble.

The simply law that I am aware of that could cake the sale is that you cannot take an air gun in the Chicago city limits.  I don't know why Amazon wont ship to outside of Chicago.  I don't know nigh way southern Illinois but I live outside of the Chicago city limits.  About 25 miles due south south east of Chicago.

The Illinois air gun laws that I know of are:

1.    You accept to prove, with a state issued picture ID, that you are older than 18 to purchase and air gun.

two.    An air gun that is larger than .177 caliber and shoots faster than 700 fps it is considered a firearm.  You need to have a Firearm Owners Identification card to purchase.  No Federal form needs to be filled out and in that location is no waiting catamenia.

Like others take stated Amazon is in the business organization of making money.  Hopefully they will realize that they can sell outside of Chicago and lift the ban in those areas.

I am curious if whatsoever other Illinois residents have been able to order and receive an air gun later Jan 1st 2016.

I wish in that location was a way to either notice out why Amazon won't sell air guns in Illinois or to educate them that non all of Illinois is field of study to Chicago constabulary and hopefully they tin reconsider.

Let me try asking this way: Who did it say the rifle in question was shipped from and sold by?

I inquire because, and I said this on the outset page of this thread, I was trying to buy a Webley Spector .177 which was being "Sold past and ships from Amazon" and got the same response. When I eastward-mailed asking why they couldn't and explained that yeah I live in NY but a 9 hour drive abroad on the other side of the state from those restricted zip codes in NYC, Amazon replied back that the supplier of those Webley rifles made the stipulation that they non be shipped to any buyer using a New York State address or they wouldn't sell/give the rifles to Amazon and they were merely constant by the suppliers stipulation virtually the rifles. They would very happily sell me the rifle every bit long as I used a ship-to address outside NYS, which is what I ended up doing. It cost me an extra $22, but I had the rifle shipped to my blood brother in Vermont, who then shipped it right back out UPS to me outside Buffalo.

I know the original poster is in very large function angry at Amazon's lack of a real reply equally to why they won't ship to him, but something like what I dealt with may be the answer as to why they won't, although if that's the instance, I admit to being stumped why they won't just tell him that similar they did when I e-mailed them.

Walmart is not immune from this.  Previously, I had tried to order a Ruger Airhawk and was refused on the ground of an unknown local law or shippers brake.  Tried again with a Ruger  Blackhawk Elite and refused again  on the same basis.  This model is carried on the shelf in their local stores.   For giggles, I placed an RWS 34 in the handbasket and proceded to the checkout.  No pop-up letters of any kind.  I was 1 click away from having it sent direct to me.  Just seems that their policy is quite arbitrary.  Later seeing this thread, I decided to try once again, with the same results.

Due to land restrictions this item tin can't exist shipped to 95219 or picked up in stores nearby.

Tried again with Blackhawk, Ditto.  Once again the RWS order proceeded ordinarily all the way to "Identify Social club" at which time I terminated the order.  I called Walmart.com CS the first time around with no satisfaction.  All I got was that there must be some local brake preventing the society.  No explanation Equally to why they would freely transport the RWS only not either of the Rugers.  From my inquiry there is neither local or land ordinance preventing the society.  I take ordered from ADG and Pyramyd without any issues.  Every bit I said, Y Arbitrary.

california just passed a law to severely restrict the purchasing of ammo. no internet purchasing, catalog purchasing thru the mail or importing of ammo from other states and residents must buy a allow and undergo a background check merely to buy ammo.

so far airgun pellets are non restricted...YET

 I was buying pellet guns from Amazon for years until 1 day in December of 2015 when I placed an order for viii .22 Discovery rifles and got the same bulletin, they won't ship to my zero code. I have mailing addresses in two zip codes, both in Massachusetts, neither one were accepted. I had a half-dozen guns delivered by them to each address only weeks before with no problem. I tried several other zip codes in MA using addresses of friends and family and realized the entire state seems to exist blacklisted. Airguns are non regulated in this state and then I called Amazon to effort and fix the trouble. I was told past Amazon customer service that the guns I ordered could no longer be shipped to whatsoever Massachusetts goose egg code. I talked to two different managers in the customer service department and neither could give me a reason why. Their legal section was supposed to contact me but never did. I will try to fallow upward on that Monday and post any answers I become.

While I co-sponsored legislation on toy guns, I appreciated the many constituents that reached out with concerns about bb guns and airsoft sporting enthusiasts that I fabricated sure to abet for provisions to protect those types of activities. The bill has been sent to study which effectively kills information technology for this legislative session.  Amazon tells me the same thing mentioned in another post, they blame it on the supplier they ship the parts for. I suspect that is bull because the same supplier (Crosman) will ship directly to me and does not have MA on their list of no-ship locations. Their legal department has failed to contact me, only spoken with depression-level management. I'k sure my complaints don't ascent to a level that their legal department would feel the need to respond to.
